Label

EPHEC has obtained the label of entrepreneurial school for many years now.  The label does not only give an official recognition to the pedagogical model but also to the unit supporting entrepreneur students.

Indeed, a structure, EPHEC ENTREPRENDRE, which benefits from regional recognition and subsidies, is present on our different campuses in order to support the students who aim to set up their own business during their studies.

Our entrepreneurial students find professional support within this structure which help them increase their chances of success.

When projects are sufficiently mature, incubators allow, in perfect agreement with professional partners, to see the growth of business creation projects.

Pedagogy @EPHEC

EPHEC's pedagogical model is  based on its 3 P’s model: hand-on, close contact with the lecturers and with the professional world enabling the 'teaching' and 'learning' components to  interact. Open and differentiated teaching methods develop students' entrepreneurial mindset.

EPHEC promotes pedagogical innovation, in particular by exploiting the potential offered by digital technologies. Faculty members are encouraged to regularly assess the impact of new teaching methods on the progress and quality of student learning.

Programmes

Entrepreneurship means more than starting one’s own business. It is a state of mind that combines the right mix of will, initiative, skills, knowledge, behaviour and responsibility.

EPHEC enables students to create and structure their own future thanks to the curriculum and the professional support.

In most degrees, the students have the possibility to choose elective courses in entrepreneurship in order to develop more specific skills enabling them to set up their own businesses.

Some of our exchange programmes are oriented more specifically to the development of an entrepreneurial project.  This is the case for our programme International Innovative Entrepreneurship  organized in Fall.

Entrepreneurial Student

Following the new law defining the social and tax status of student entrepreneurs, EPHEC has developed the academic status of student entrepreneur to support young people who want to launch themselves into the world of entrepreneurship alongside their studies.

Once granted, this status will enable the student :

  • to combine the studies with the setting up of the own business;
  • to benefit from flexible working hours;
  • to justify certain absences related to  entrepreneurial activities;
  • to have access to a range of support packages.

Any student regularly enrolled at EPHEC may apply. This "Student Entrepreneur" status will be granted provided that the student concerned is in one of the following situations:

  • having a business start-up project at the idea stage;
  • having a business start-up project at the development stage;
  • being the founder or manager of an existing business at the start-up or expansion stage.

Applications will be analysed by a committee. Status is granted for one academic year.
